Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 16, Página 7
"So
do
I!
And
when
we
tell
them
we
learned
while
we
were
off
pirating,
won't
they
wish
they
had
come
with
us?"
"Oh,
I
think
they
will!
I'll
bet
they
will!"
They
kept
talking.
But
soon,
the
talk
slowed
down
and
got
broken.
There
were
long
silences,
and
they
spat
a
lot.
Their
mouths
were
full
of
spit,
and
they
couldn't
stop
it.
Little
bits
went
down
their
throats,
and
they
gagged
every
time.
Both
boys
looked
very
pale
and
sick
now.
Joe's
pipe
fell
from
his
hand.
Tom's
did
too.
They
were
both
spitting
a
lot
and
trying
to
stop
it.
Joe
said
weakly:
"I
lost
my
knife.
I
think
I
better
go
find
it."
Tom
said,
with
shaking
lips:
"I'll
help
you.
You
go
that
way,
and
I'll
look
by
the
spring.
No,
you
don't
need
to
come,
Huck—we
can
find
it."
So
Huck
sat
down
again
and
waited
an
hour.
Then
he
felt
lonely
and
went
to
find
his
friends.
They
were
far
apart
in
the
woods,
both
very
pale
and
both
fast
asleep.
But
he
knew
that
if
they
had
any
trouble,
they
got
rid
of
it.
They
didn't
talk
much
at
supper
that
night.
They
looked
humble,
and
when
Huck
got
his
pipe
ready
after
the
meal
and
was
going
to
get
theirs,
they
said
no,
they
didn't
feel
well—something
they
ate
at
dinner
didn't
agree
with
them.
