Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 30, Página 3
“Oh
no,
no!
Please
don’t
tell!”
When
the
young
men
were
gone,
the
old
Welshman
said:
“They
won’t
tell—and
I
won’t.
But
why
don’t
you
want
people
to
know?”
Huck
didn’t
explain
much.
He
just
said
he
knew
too
much
about
one
of
those
men
and
didn’t
want
the
man
to
know
that
he
knew
anything
about
him.
He
was
sure
he’d
be
killed
if
the
man
found
out.
The
old
man
promised
to
keep
it
secret
again
and
asked:
“How
did
you
come
to
follow
these
men,
lad?
Did
they
look
suspicious?”
Huck
was
quiet
for
a
moment,
thinking
carefully.
Then
he
said:
“Well,
you
see,
I’m
a
bit
of
a
troublemaker—at
least
everyone
says
so,
and
I
don’t
see
anything
wrong
with
that—and
sometimes
I
can’t
sleep
because
I
think
about
it
and
try
to
find
a
new
way
to
be.
That’s
what
happened
last
night.
I
couldn’t
sleep,
so
I
walked
up
the
street
around
midnight,
thinking
about
it,
and
when
I
got
to
that
old
brick
store
by
the
Temperance
Tavern,
I
leaned
against
the
wall
to
think
more.
Just
then,
these
two
men
came
by,
carrying
something,
and
I
thought
they
stole
it.
One
was
smoking,
and
the
other
wanted
a
light;
so
they
stopped
right
in
front
of
me.
The
cigars
lit
up
their
faces,
and
I
saw
that
the
big
one
was
the
deaf
and
dumb
Spaniard,
with
his
white
beard
and
patch
on
his
eye,
and
the
other
was
a
ragged-looking
man.”
