Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 6, Página 17
After
a
while,
the
class
stopped
paying
attention
to
him,
and
the
usual
school
noise
started
again.
Tom
began
to
look
at
the
girl.
She
noticed
and
made
a
face
at
him.
Then
she
turned
away
for
a
minute.
When
she
looked
back,
there
was
a
peach
in
front
of
her.
She
pushed
it
away.
Tom
gently
put
it
back.
She
pushed
it
away
again,
but
not
as
hard.
Tom
returned
it
to
its
place.
This
time
she
let
it
stay.
Tom
wrote
on
his
slate,
"Please
take
it—I
have
more."
The
girl
looked
at
the
words
but
said
nothing.
Tom
started
to
draw
on
the
slate,
hiding
it
with
his
hand.
At
first,
the
girl
ignored
it,
but
soon
she
was
curious.
The
boy
kept
drawing,
acting
like
he
didn’t
notice
her.
The
girl
tried
to
see
but
didn’t
show
it.
Finally,
she
whispered:
"Let
me
see
it."
Tom
showed
a
funny
drawing
of
a
house
with
two
roof
ends
and
smoke
coming
from
the
chimney.
The
girl
became
interested
and
forgot
everything
else.
When
it
was
done,
she
looked
at
it
and
whispered:
"It’s
nice—draw
a
man."
Tom
drew
a
man
in
the
yard,
looking
like
a
tall
structure.
He
was
bigger
than
the
house,
but
the
girl
didn’t
mind.
She
liked
the
drawing
and
whispered:
"It’s
a
beautiful
man—now
draw
me
walking."
Tom
drew
a
figure
with
a
round
head
and
thin
arms,
giving
it
a
big
fan.
The
girl
said:
"It’s
so
nice—I
wish
I
could
draw."
