Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 10, Página 4
Tom
liked
this
idea.
It
was
deep,
dark,
and
serious;
the
time,
the
situation,
and
the
place
matched
it.
He
picked
up
a
clean
piece
of
wood
in
the
moonlight,
took
a
small
piece
of
red
chalk
from
his
pocket,
and
wrote
slowly,
biting
his
tongue
as
he
wrote
each
line.
"Huck
Finn
and
Tom
Sawyer
swear
they
will
keep
quiet
about
This
and
They
wish
They
may
Drop
down
dead
if
They
ever
Tell."
Huckleberry
admired
Tom's
writing
and
the
serious
words.
He
took
a
pin
from
his
shirt
and
was
about
to
prick
his
skin,
but
Tom
said:
"Wait!
Don't
do
that.
A
pin's
made
of
brass.
It
might
have
poison
on
it."
"What's
poison?"
"It's
something
that
can
make
you
sick.
If
you
swallow
it,
you'll
see."
So
Tom
took
the
thread
off
one
of
his
needles,
and
each
boy
pricked
his
thumb
to
get
a
drop
of
blood.
After
many
tries,
Tom
managed
to
sign
his
initials
using
his
little
finger.
Then
he
showed
Huckleberry
how
to
make
an
H
and
an
F,
and
their
promise
was
complete.
They
buried
the
wood
near
the
wall
with
some
strange
rituals,
and
they
felt
their
promise
was
locked
and
the
key
thrown
away.
A
figure
sneaked
in
through
a
break
in
the
other
end
of
the
ruined
building,
but
they
didn't
notice
it.
