Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 16, Página 7
"So
do
I!
And
when
we
tell
them
we
learned
when
we
were
off
pirating,
won't
they
wish
they'd
been
with
us?"
"Oh,
I
bet
they
will!"
So
the
talk
went
on.
But
soon
it
started
to
slow
down
and
become
less
connected.
The
silences
grew
longer;
they
were
spitting
a
lot
more.
Their
mouths
were
so
full
of
saliva
they
could
hardly
keep
up
with
it.
Little
spills
went
down
their
throats,
causing
them
to
gag
every
time.
Both
boys
were
looking
pale
and
miserable
now.
Joe's
pipe
fell
from
his
weak
fingers.
Tom's
did
too.
Both
of
them
were
spitting
a
lot,
and
they
were
trying
hard
to
keep
up.
Joe
said
weakly:
"I've
lost
my
knife.
I
think
I
better
go
find
it."
Tom
said,
with
shaky
lips
and
a
halting
voice:
"I'll
help
you.
You
go
that
way,
and
I'll
look
by
the
spring.
No,
you
don't
need
to
come,
Huck—we
can
find
it."
So
Huck
sat
down
again
and
waited
for
an
hour.
Then
he
felt
lonely
and
went
to
find
his
friends.
They
were
far
apart
in
the
woods,
both
very
pale,
both
fast
asleep.
But
something
told
him
that
if
they
had
any
trouble,
they
had
gotten
over
it.
They
weren't
talkative
at
supper
that
night.
They
looked
humble,
and
when
Huck
prepared
his
pipe
after
the
meal
and
was
going
to
prepare
theirs,
they
said
no,
they
weren't
feeling
well—something
they
ate
at
dinner
had
disagreed
with
them.
