Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 25, Página 11
"Okay.
Let's
hide
the
tools
in
the
bushes."
The
boys
arrived
that
night,
just
at
the
right
time.
They
sat
in
the
shadows,
waiting.
It
was
a
lonely
place,
and
the
hour
felt
serious
because
of
old
stories.
The
wind
whispered
in
the
leaves,
and
ghosts
seemed
to
hide
in
the
dark
corners.
A
dog's
howl
echoed
from
far
away,
and
an
owl
hooted
back.
The
boys
felt
the
seriousness
of
the
moment
and
spoke
little.
After
a
while,
they
thought
it
must
be
midnight.
They
checked
the
shadow's
position
and
started
digging.
Their
hopes
grew,
their
interest
increased,
and
they
worked
hard.
The
hole
got
deeper
and
deeper,
but
each
time
they
heard
the
pick
hit
something,
it
was
just
another
disappointment.
It
was
only
a
stone
or
a
piece
of
wood.
Finally,
Tom
said:
“It’s
no
use,
Huck.
We’re
wrong
again.”
“But
we
can’t
be
wrong.
We
marked
the
shadow
perfectly.”
“I
know,
but
there’s
another
problem.”
“What’s
that?”
“Well,
we
only
guessed
the
time.
Maybe
it
was
too
late
or
too
early.”
Huck
dropped
his
shovel.
