Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 6, Página 1
Monday
morning
made
Tom
Sawyer
feel
miserable.
Mondays
always
did,
because
they
meant
the
start
of
another
long
week
at
school.
He
often
wished
there
was
no
weekend,
as
it
made
going
back
to
school
feel
even
worse.
Tom
lay
in
bed
thinking.
He
wished
he
were
sick,
so
he
could
stay
home
from
school.
It
was
a
small
chance,
but
he
checked
his
body
for
any
illness.
He
found
nothing,
so
he
tried
again.
This
time,
he
thought
he
felt
a
little
stomach
pain
and
hoped
it
would
get
worse.
But
soon
the
pain
disappeared.
He
kept
thinking.
Then
he
noticed
something.
One
of
his
front
teeth
was
loose.
This
seemed
like
good
luck.
He
was
about
to
start
groaning
when
he
realized
his
aunt
might
pull
the
tooth
out,
and
that
would
hurt.
So,
he
decided
to
save
that
idea
for
later
and
kept
thinking.
After
a
while,
he
remembered
hearing
about
an
illness
that
could
last
for
weeks
and
might
even
make
someone
lose
a
finger.
So,
he
pulled
his
sore
toe
from
under
the
sheet
and
looked
at
it.
He
didn’t
know
the
symptoms
he
needed,
but
he
decided
to
try
anyway,
so
he
started
groaning
with
energy.
But
Sid
kept
sleeping.
Tom
groaned
louder
and
thought
he
started
to
feel
pain
in
his
toe.
Still,
there
was
no
reaction
from
Sid.
By
now,
Tom
was
tired
from
his
efforts.
He
took
a
break,
then
made
himself
bigger
and
let
out
a
series
of
impressive
groans.
Sid
continued
to
snore.
Tom
was
frustrated.
He
said,
“Sid,
Sid!”
and
shook
him.
This
worked,
and
Tom
began
to
groan
again.
Sid
yawned,
stretched,
then
sat
up
with
a
start
and
looked
at
Tom.
Tom
kept
groaning.
Sid
asked:
