Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 26, Página 7
"Now’s
our
chance—let’s
go!"
Huck
said:
"I
can’t—I’d
die
if
they
woke
up."
Tom
urged,
but
Huck
hesitated.
Finally,
Tom
rose
slowly
and
quietly,
trying
to
leave
alone.
But
his
first
step
made
the
floor
creak
so
loudly
that
he
sank
down,
terrified.
He
didn’t
try
again.
The
boys
lay
there,
counting
the
slow
minutes,
feeling
like
time
had
stopped,
until
they
were
relieved
to
see
the
sun
finally
setting.
Then
one
snore
stopped.
Injun
Joe
sat
up,
looked
around—grinned
grimly
at
his
partner,
whose
head
was
drooping
on
his
knees—nudged
him
awake
with
his
foot
and
said:
"Hey!
You're
a
watchman,
aren't
you?
It's
all
good
though—nothing's
happened."
"Oh
wow,
was
I
asleep?"
"Kind
of,
kind
of.
It's
almost
time
for
us
to
move,
partner.
What
should
we
do
with
the
little
loot
we
have
left?"
