Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 26, Página 9
"What
is
it?"
his
comrade
asked.
"Half-rotten
plank—no,
it’s
a
box,
I
think.
Here—give
me
a
hand
and
let’s
see
why
it’s
here.
Never
mind,
I’ve
made
a
hole."
He
reached
in
and
pulled
something
out—
"Man,
it’s
money!"
The
two
men
examined
the
handful
of
coins.
They
were
gold.
The
boys
above
were
as
thrilled
and
delighted
as
the
men.
Joe’s
comrade
said:
"Let’s
do
this
quickly.
There’s
an
old
rusty
pick
over
in
the
weeds
on
the
other
side
of
the
fireplace—I
saw
it
a
minute
ago."
He
ran
and
brought
the
boys’
pick
and
shovel.
Injun
Joe
took
the
pick,
looked
at
it
critically,
shook
his
head,
muttered
something,
and
then
started
using
it.
The
box
was
soon
uncovered.
It
wasn’t
very
large;
it
was
iron-bound
and
had
been
strong
before
time
weakened
it.
The
men
looked
at
the
treasure
in
blissful
silence.
