Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 30, Página 7
"Don’t
mention
it,
madam.
There’s
someone
else
you
owe
more
thanks
to
than
me
and
my
boys,
but
he
doesn’t
want
me
to
reveal
his
name.
We
wouldn’t
have
been
there
without
him."
Naturally,
this
sparked
enormous
curiosity,
almost
overshadowing
the
main
event—but
the
Welshman
let
it
gnaw
at
his
visitors
and
spread
through
the
town,
as
he
refused
to
reveal
his
secret.
When
everything
else
had
been
discussed,
the
widow
asked:
"I
went
to
sleep
reading
in
bed
and
slept
through
all
that
noise.
Why
didn’t
you
wake
me?"
"We
thought
it
wasn’t
worth
it.
Those
guys
weren’t
likely
to
come
back—they
had
no
tools
left,
and
what
was
the
point
of
waking
you
and
scaring
you
to
death?
My
three
men
stood
guard
at
your
house
the
rest
of
the
night.
They’ve
just
returned."
More
visitors
arrived,
and
the
story
had
to
be
repeated
for
a
couple
more
hours.
There
was
no
Sunday
school
during
the
school
vacation,
but
everyone
was
early
at
church.
The
exciting
event
was
thoroughly
discussed.
News
came
that
there
was
no
trace
of
the
two
villains
yet.
After
the
sermon,
Judge
Thatcher’s
wife
caught
up
with
Mrs.
Harper
as
she
moved
down
the
aisle
with
the
crowd
and
said:
"Is
my
Becky
going
to
sleep
all
day?
I
thought
she’d
be
exhausted."
"Your
Becky?"
