Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 4, Página 4
So
he
put
on
the
shoes
grumbling.
Mary
was
soon
ready,
and
the
three
children
headed
to
Sunday
school—a
place
Tom
hated
with
all
his
heart;
but
Sid
and
Mary
enjoyed
it.
Sunday
school
lasted
from
nine
to
half-past
ten;
followed
by
church
service.
Two
of
the
children
stayed
for
the
sermon
willingly,
and
the
other
stayed
too—for
stronger
reasons.
The
church’s
high-backed,
unpadded
pews
could
seat
about
three
hundred
people;
the
building
was
small
and
plain,
with
a
pine
board
box
on
top
for
a
steeple.
At
the
door,
Tom
stepped
back
and
spoke
to
a
friend
dressed
for
Sunday:
“Hey,
Billy,
got
a
yellow
ticket?”
“Yes.”
“What’ll
you
take
for
it?”
“What’ll
you
give?”
“Piece
of
licorice
and
a
fish-hook.”
“Let’s
see
them.”
