Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 6, Página 20
"No,
I
won't
tell
anyone.
Now
let
me
see."
"Oh,
you
don't
really
want
to
see!"
"Now
that
you're
acting
like
this,
I
will
see."
She
placed
her
small
hand
on
his,
and
a
little
struggle
followed.
Tom
pretended
to
resist
but
slowly
let
his
hand
slip
until
the
words
were
revealed:
"I
love
you."
"Oh,
you
naughty
thing!"
She
tapped
his
hand
sharply
but
blushed
and
looked
pleased
nonetheless.
Just
then,
the
boy
felt
a
firm,
inevitable
grip
on
his
ear,
lifting
him
slowly.
He
was
carried
across
the
room
and
dropped
into
his
seat
amid
a
chorus
of
giggles
from
the
class.
The
teacher
stood
over
him
for
a
few
tense
moments
before
returning
to
his
desk
without
a
word.
Despite
his
tingling
ear,
Tom's
heart
was
full
of
joy.
As
the
class
settled,
Tom
tried
earnestly
to
focus
on
his
studies,
but
he
was
too
distracted.
When
it
was
his
turn
in
the
reading
class,
he
stumbled
through
it;
then
in
geography,
he
turned
lakes
into
mountains,
mountains
into
rivers,
and
rivers
into
continents,
creating
chaos;
finally,
in
the
spelling
class,
he
failed
on
simple
words,
ending
up
at
the
bottom
of
the
class
and
giving
up
the
pewter
medal
he
had
worn
proudly
for
months.
