Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 8, Página 5
"Okay,
Joe,
you
can
be
Friar
Tuck
or
Much
the
miller’s
son,
and
hit
me
with
a
quarter-staff;
or
I’ll
be
the
Sheriff
of
Nottingham,
and
you
can
be
Robin
Hood
for
a
while
and
kill
me."
This
was
agreeable,
and
so
they
acted
out
these
adventures.
Then
Tom
became
Robin
Hood
again,
and
was
allowed
by
the
treacherous
nun
to
let
his
strength
drain
away
through
his
ignored
wound.
Finally,
Joe,
playing
the
role
of
a
whole
band
of
mourning
outlaws,
dragged
him
away
sadly,
placed
his
bow
in
his
weak
hands,
and
Tom
said,
"Where
this
arrow
falls,
bury
poor
Robin
Hood
under
the
greenwood
tree."
Then
he
shot
the
arrow
and
fell
back,
ready
to
die,
but
he
landed
on
a
nettle
and
jumped
up
too
cheerfully
for
a
dead
man.
The
boys
got
dressed,
hid
their
costumes,
and
left,
feeling
sad
that
there
were
no
outlaws
anymore,
and
wondering
what
modern
society
could
offer
to
make
up
for
their
loss.
They
said
they
would
rather
be
outlaws
for
a
year
in
Sherwood
Forest
than
be
President
of
the
United
States
forever.
