got
home
to
West
Egg,
I
was
scared.
I
thought
my
house
was
on
fire.
It
was
two
o’clock.
The
corner
was
very
bright.

saw
light
on

trees
and
wires.
I
turned
and
saw
Gatsby’s
house.
It
had
lights
everywhere.
I
thought
there
was
a
party.
Maybe
a
game
like
“hide-and-seek.”
But
it
was
quiet.
Only
the
wind
made
noise.
The
lights
went
off
and
on.
My
taxi
left,
and
I
saw
Gatsby.
He
walked
on
his
lawn
to
me.
“Your
house
looks
like
a
fair,”
I
said.
“Does
it?”
He
looked
at
his
house.
“I
looked
in
some
rooms.
Let’s
go
to
Coney
Island,
old
sport.
In
my
car.”
“It’s
too
late.”
“Then
let’s
swim
in
the
pool.
I

it
