El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 6, Página 10
“She
says
she
wants
him.”
“She
has
a
big
dinner
party.
He
won’t
know
anyone
there.”
He
frowned.
“I
wonder
where
he
met
Daisy.
I
may
be
old-fashioned,
but
women
run
around
too
much
now.
They
meet
all
kinds
of
people.”
Suddenly
Mr.
Sloane
and
the
lady
went
down
the
steps
and
got
on
their
horses.
“Come
on,”
said
Mr.
Sloane
to
Tom,
“we’re
late.
We
must
go.”
And
then
to
me:
“Tell
him
we
couldn’t
wait,
will
you?”
Tom
and
I
shook
hands.
We
nodded
to
the
others.
They
left
quickly,
disappearing
under
the
trees
just
as
Gatsby
came
out
the
door
with
his
hat
and
coat.
Tom
was
upset
about
Daisy
going
out
alone.
On
Saturday
night,
he
came
with
her
to
Gatsby’s
party.
Maybe
Tom
made
the
party
feel
different.
It
stands
out
in
my
memory.
The
same
people,
the
same
champagne,
the
same
noise,
but
it
felt
different.
Or
maybe
I
got
used
to
West
Egg.
It
was
a
world
of
its
own.
Now
I
looked
at
it
with
Daisy’s
eyes.
It
is
sad
to
see
things
with
new
eyes.
