El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 7, Página 68
"How
long
will
you
wait?"
"All
night,
if
needed.
Until
they
sleep."
I
thought
of
something
new.
If
Tom
knew
Daisy
drove,
he
might
think
something.
I
looked
at
the
house.
Some
windows
were
bright.
"You
wait
here,"
I
said.
"I’ll
see
if
there
is
trouble."
I
walked
back
along
the
grass.
I
moved
quietly
on
the
gravel.
I
went
up
the
steps
to
the
veranda.
The
curtains
were
open.
The
room
was
empty.
I
passed
the
porch
where
we
ate
dinner
in
June.
I
saw
a
small
light
from
the
pantry
window.
The
blind
was
down,
but
I
found
a
small
gap.
Daisy
and
Tom
sat
at
the
kitchen
table.
A
plate
of
cold
chicken
was
between
them.
Two
bottles
of
ale
were
on
the
table.
Tom
talked
to
Daisy.
His
hand
was
on
hers.
Sometimes
she
looked
at
him
and
nodded.
