El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 1, Página 16
The
butler
returned
and
whispered
to
Tom.
Tom
frowned,
pushed
back
his
chair,
and
went
inside.
Daisy
leaned
forward
again,
her
voice
bright.
“I
love
having
you
at
my
table,
Nick.
You
remind
me
of
a
rose,
an
absolute
rose.
Doesn’t
he?”
She
asked
Miss
Baker:
“An
absolute
rose?”
This
was
not
true.
I
am
not
like
a
rose.
She
was
making
it
up,
but
her
words
felt
warm.
Then
she
threw
her
napkin
on
the
table
and
went
inside.
Miss
Baker
and
I
exchanged
a
glance.
I
was
about
to
speak
when
she
said,
“Sh!”
A
quiet
murmur
came
from
the
room,
and
Miss
Baker
leaned
forward
to
hear.
The
murmur
rose
and
fell
and
then
stopped.
“This
Mr.
Gatsby
you
mentioned
is
my
neighbor—”
I
began.
“Don’t
talk.
I
want
to
hear
what
happens.”
