El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 2, Página 22
Tom
Buchanan
moved
quickly
and
hit
her
nose
with
his
open
hand.
Then
there
were
bloody
towels
on
the
bathroom
floor,
women's
voices
scolding,
and
over
the
noise,
a
long
cry
of
pain.
Mr.
McKee
woke
up
and
started
toward
the
door.
Halfway
there,
he
turned
and
looked
at
the
scene—his
wife
and
Catherine
scolding
and
helping,
the
bleeding
figure
on
the
couch
trying
to
cover
the
tapestry
with
a
magazine.
Then
Mr.
McKee
turned
and
continued
out
the
door.
I
took
my
hat
from
the
chandelier
and
followed.
"Come
to
lunch
some
day,"
he
suggested
as
we
went
down
in
the
elevator.
"Where?"
"Anywhere."
"Keep
your
hands
off
the
lever,"
snapped
the
elevator
boy.
