El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 3, Página 21
"Good
night."
"Good
night."
He
smiled—and
suddenly
it
felt
nice
to
be
among
the
last
to
leave,
as
if
he
wanted
it
that
way.
"Good
night,
old
sport...
Good
night."
As
I
walked
down
the
steps,
I
saw
the
night
wasn’t
over.
Fifty
feet
from
the
door,
headlights
lit
up
a
strange
scene.
In
the
ditch
beside
the
road,
a
new
car
sat
without
a
wheel,
which
had
come
off
after
hitting
a
wall.
Curious
drivers
gathered
around
it,
but
their
cars
blocked
the
road,
causing
a
loud
noise
from
those
behind,
adding
to
the
chaos.
A
man
in
a
long
coat
got
off
the
wrecked
car.
He
stood
in
the
road,
looking
at
the
car
and
the
tyre.
He
seemed
puzzled
but
friendly.
"See!"
he
said.
"It
went
into
the
ditch."
This
fact
surprised
him
a
lot.
I
knew
him;
he
was
the
man
from
Gatsby's
library.
