El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 4, Página 22
"I
had
lunch
with
Mr.
Gatsby."
I
turned
to
Mr.
Gatsby,
but
he
was
gone.
One
day
in
October
1917—
(said
Jordan
Baker
that
afternoon,
sitting
straight
on
a
chair
in
the
tea-garden
at
the
Plaza
Hotel)
—I
was
walking
from
place
to
place,
half
on
the
sidewalks
and
half
on
the
lawns.
I
liked
the
lawns
because
my
shoes
from
England
had
rubber
knobs
that
gripped
the
soft
ground.
I
wore
a
new
plaid
skirt
that
moved
in
the
wind,
and
when
it
did,
the
red,
white,
and
blue
banners
in
front
of
the
houses
waved
and
said
tut-tut-tut-tut,
like
they
disapproved.
The
biggest
banner
and
lawn
belonged
to
Daisy
Fay’s
house.
She
was
eighteen,
two
years
older
than
me,
and
very
popular
in
Louisville.
She
wore
white,
had
a
little
white
car,
and
the
phone
rang
all
day
with
young
officers
from
Camp
Taylor
wanting
to
see
her
that
night.
"At
least
for
an
hour!"
