El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 6, Página 16
“Anything
I
hate
is
to
get
my
head
stuck
in
a
pool,”
mumbled
Miss
Baedeker.
“They
almost
drowned
me
once
over
in
New
Jersey.”
“Then
you
should
leave
it
alone,”
said
Doctor
Civet.
“Speak
for
yourself!”
cried
Miss
Baedeker
loudly.
“Your
hand
shakes.
I
wouldn’t
let
you
operate
on
me!”
It
was
like
that.
I
remember
standing
with
Daisy,
watching
the
movie
director
and
his
Star.
They
stood
under
the
white-plum
tree.
Their
faces
were
close,
with
a
thin
moonlight
ray
between.
He
had
been
moving
closer
to
her
all
evening.
I
saw
him
bend
a
little
more
and
kiss
her
cheek.
“I
like
her,”
said
Daisy.
“I
think
she’s
lovely.”
But
the
rest
of
it
upset
her.
It
wasn’t
just
a
gesture;
it
was
a
feeling.
She
didn’t
like
West
Egg.
It
was
a
new
“place”
that
grew
from
a
fishing
village.
It
was
too
strong
and
moved
people
from
nothing
to
nothing.
She
didn’t
understand
its
simple
ways
and
found
them
awful.
