El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 7, Página 64
I
was
done
with
them
for
the
day,
and
that
included
Jordan.
She
must
have
seen
this
in
my
face,
because
she
turned
quickly
and
ran
up
the
porch
steps
inside.
I
sat
for
a
few
minutes
with
my
head
in
my
hands
until
I
heard
the
phone
inside
and
the
butler
calling
a
taxi.
Then
I
walked
slowly
down
the
drive
to
wait
by
the
gate.
I
hadn't
gone
far
when
I
heard
my
name,
and
Gatsby
stepped
from
the
bushes
onto
the
path.
I
must
have
felt
strange
because
all
I
noticed
was
his
pink
suit
glowing
in
the
moonlight.
"What
are
you
doing?"
I
asked.
"Just
standing
here,
old
sport."
Somehow,
that
seemed
a
silly
thing
to
do.
For
all
I
knew,
he
might
rob
the
house;
I
wouldn't
have
been
surprised
to
see
bad
faces,
like
"Wolfshiem’s
people,"
behind
him
in
the
dark
bushes.
"Did
you
see
trouble
on
the
road?"
he
asked
after
a
moment.
