El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 9, Página 6
“Young
Parke’s
in
trouble,”
he
said
quickly.
“They
caught
him
with
the
bonds.
They
got
a
notice
from
New
York
just
five
minutes
before.
What
do
you
know
about
that,
hey?
You
never
can
tell
in
small
towns—”
“Hello!”
I
interrupted.
“This
isn’t
Mr.
Gatsby.
Mr.
Gatsby’s
dead.”
There
was
a
long
silence,
then
a
noise,
and
the
line
went
dead.
On
the
third
day,
a
telegram
came
from
Henry
C.
Gatz
in
Minnesota.
It
said
he
was
coming
and
to
wait
for
the
funeral.
It
was
Gatsby’s
father,
an
old
man,
looking
lost
and
confused.
He
wore
a
long
coat
even
though
it
was
warm.
His
eyes
were
wet
with
excitement.
I
took
his
bag
and
umbrella,
and
he
pulled
at
his
beard.
He
was
about
to
fall,
so
I
took
him
to
the
music-room
and
made
him
sit.
I
sent
for
food,
but
he
wouldn’t
eat.
He
spilled
milk
from
his
shaking
hand.
“I
saw
it
in
the
Chicago
newspaper,”
he
said.
“I
started
right
away.”
