El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 1, Página 11
“Gatsby?”
Daisy
asked.
“What
Gatsby?”
Before
I
could
say
he
was
my
neighbor,
dinner
was
announced.
Tom
Buchanan
took
my
arm
and
led
me
out
of
the
room,
like
moving
a
checker
on
a
board.
The
two
young
women
walked
ahead
of
us
onto
a
pink
porch
open
to
the
sunset.
Four
candles
flickered
on
the
table
in
the
light
breeze.
“Why
candles?”
Daisy
objected,
frowning.
She
blew
them
out
with
her
fingers.
“In
two
weeks,
it’ll
be
the
longest
day
of
the
year.”
She
looked
at
us
brightly.
“Do
you
always
wait
for
the
longest
day
and
then
miss
it?
I
always
do.”
“We
should
plan
something,”
yawned
Miss
Baker,
sitting
at
the
table
like
she
was
getting
into
bed.
“All
right,”
said
Daisy.
“What
should
we
plan?”
She
looked
at
me
helplessly.
“What
do
people
plan?”
