El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 2, Página 5
“It
does
her
good
to
get
away.”
“Doesn’t
her
husband
mind?”
“Wilson?
He
thinks
she
visits
her
sister
in
New
York.
He’s
so
clueless
he
doesn’t
know
he’s
alive.”
So
Tom,
his
girl,
and
I
went
up
to
New
York
together—or
not
quite
together,
because
Mrs.
Wilson
sat
in
another
car.
Tom
respected
the
feelings
of
those
from
East
Egg
who
might
be
on
the
train.
She
had
changed
into
a
brown
dress
with
a
pattern,
which
was
tight
over
her
wide
hips
as
Tom
helped
her
onto
the
platform
in
New
York.
At
the
newsstand,
she
bought
a
copy
of
Town
Tattle
and
a
movie
magazine,
and
in
the
drugstore,
some
cold
cream
and
a
small
bottle
of
perfume.
Upstairs,
in
the
echoing
drive,
she
let
four
taxis
go
by
before
choosing
a
new
one,
lavender
with
grey
seats.
We
left
the
station
and
entered
the
bright
sunshine.
But
soon
she
turned
sharply
from
the
window,
leaned
forward,
and
tapped
on
the
front
glass.
“I
want
to
get
one
of
those
dogs,”
she
said
seriously.
“I
want
one
for
the
apartment.
They’re
nice
to
have—a
dog.”
