El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 5, Página 11
“I
certainly
am
awfully
glad
to
see
you
again.”
A
pause;
it
lasted
terribly.
I
had
nothing
to
do
in
the
hall,
so
I
went
into
the
room.
Gatsby
stood
with
his
hands
in
his
pockets,
leaning
against
the
fireplace.
He
tried
to
look
calm
and
bored,
but
he
was
tense.
His
head
was
so
far
back
that
it
touched
an
old
clock.
From
this
position,
he
looked
down
at
Daisy.
She
was
sitting
on
the
edge
of
a
stiff
chair,
looking
scared
but
still
graceful.
"We’ve
met
before,"
Gatsby
said
quietly.
He
glanced
at
me
for
a
moment,
and
tried
to
smile.
Just
then,
the
clock
wobbled
as
he
leaned
on
it.
He
quickly
caught
it
with
shaking
hands
and
put
it
back
in
place.
Then
he
sat
down
stiffly,
resting
his
chin
on
his
hand.
"I’m
sorry
about
the
clock,"
he
said.
My
face
was
now
very
red.
I
couldn't
think
of
anything
normal
to
say,
even
though
I
had
many
thoughts
in
my
head.
