El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 7, Página 6
Jordan’s
fingers,
powdered
white
over
their
tan,
rested
in
mine
for
a
moment.
“And
Mr.
Thomas
Buchanan,
the
athlete?”
I
asked.
At
the
same
time,
I
heard
his
voice,
rough
and
muffled,
at
the
hall
phone.
Gatsby
stood
in
the
middle
of
the
red
carpet,
looking
around
with
fascinated
eyes.
Daisy
watched
him
and
laughed,
her
sweet,
exciting
laugh;
a
small
cloud
of
powder
rose
from
her
chest
into
the
air.
“The
rumor
is,”
whispered
Jordan,
“that’s
Tom’s
girl
on
the
phone.”
We
were
silent.
The
voice
in
the
hall
got
louder
with
anger:
“Fine,
then,
I
won’t
sell
you
the
car
at
all…
I
don’t
owe
you
anything…
and
bothering
me
at
lunchtime,
I
won’t
stand
that!”
