El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 8, Página 12
Hearing
himself
say
this,
he
flinched
and
cried
out,
"Oh,
my
God!"
again.
Michaelis
tried
to
distract
him
awkwardly.
"How
long
have
you
been
married,
George?
Come
on,
try
to
sit
still
for
a
minute
and
answer
me.
How
long
have
you
been
married?"
"Twelve
years."
"Did
you
ever
have
any
children?
Come
on,
George,
sit
still—I
asked
you
a
question.
Did
you
have
any
children?"
The
hard
brown
beetles
kept
hitting
the
dim
light.
Each
time
Michaelis
heard
a
car
speeding
by,
it
sounded
like
the
one
that
hadn't
stopped
earlier.
He
didn't
want
to
go
into
the
garage,
because
the
workbench
was
stained
where
the
body
had
been.
So
he
moved
around
the
office
uncomfortably,
learning
every
object
in
it
before
morning.
He
occasionally
sat
beside
Wilson,
trying
to
calm
him.
"Do
you
have
a
church
you
go
to
sometimes,
George?
Even
if
you
haven't
been
there
for
a
while?
Maybe
I
could
call
the
church
and
get
a
priest
to
come
over
and
talk
to
you,
see?"
