El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 3, Página 29
"I
hope
I
never
will,"
she
replied.
"I
hate
careless
people.
That’s
why
I
like
you."
Her
grey
eyes,
tired
from
the
sun,
looked
straight
ahead.
She
had
changed
the
dynamics
between
us
on
purpose,
and
for
a
moment,
I
thought
I
loved
her.
However,
I
tend
to
think
slowly
and
have
internal
rules
that
restrain
my
desires.
I
knew
I
needed
to
untangle
myself
from
the
situation
back
home
first.
I
had
been
sending
letters
weekly,
signing
them
with
"Love,
Nick,"
and
all
I
could
focus
on
was
how
a
slight
sheen
of
sweat
appeared
on
that
girl’s
upper
lip
when
she
played
tennis.
Still,
there
was
an
unspoken
agreement
that
needed
to
be
gently
ended
before
I
could
be
free.
Everyone
believes
they
possess
at
least
one
of
the
main
virtues,
and
this
is
mine:
I
am
one
of
the
few
truly
honest
people
I
have
ever
met.
