El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 3, Página 6
A
thrill
ran
through
us
all.
The
three
Mr.
Mumbles
leaned
forward
eagerly
to
listen.
“I
doubt
it,”
Lucille
argued
skeptically.
“I
heard
he
was
a
German
spy
during
the
war.”
One
of
the
men
nodded
in
agreement.
“I
heard
that
from
someone
who
knew
him
well,
grew
up
with
him
in
Germany,”
he
assured
us
confidently.
“No
way,”
said
the
first
girl,
“he
was
in
the
American
army
during
the
war.”
As
our
belief
shifted
back
to
her,
she
leaned
forward
excitedly.
“Watch
him
when
he
thinks
no
one’s
looking.
I
bet
he
killed
someone.”
She
narrowed
her
eyes
and
shivered.
Lucille
shivered
too.
We
all
turned
to
look
for
Gatsby.
It
was
a
testament
to
the
romantic
mystery
he
inspired
that
whispers
about
him
came
from
those
who
found
little
else
worth
whispering
about
in
the
world.
