El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 7, Página 13
We
had
lunch
in
the
dining
room,
which
was
also
darkened
to
keep
out
the
heat,
and
we
drank
cold
ale
to
ease
our
tense
mood.
“What
should
we
do
with
ourselves
this
afternoon?”
Daisy
exclaimed,
“and
tomorrow,
and
the
next
thirty
years?”
“Don’t
be
so
gloomy,”
Jordan
replied.
“Life
begins
anew
when
autumn
brings
its
crisp
air.”
“But
it’s
so
hot,”
Daisy
insisted,
almost
in
tears,
“and
everything
feels
so
mixed
up.
Let’s
go
to
town!”
Her
voice
pushed
through
the
heat,
trying
to
shape
its
chaos
into
something
meaningful.
“I’ve
heard
of
converting
a
stable
into
a
garage,”
Tom
was
saying
to
Gatsby,
“but
I
might
be
the
first
to
turn
a
garage
into
a
stable.”
