El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 7, Página 59
"You
don’t
have
to
tell
me
what
kind
of
car
it
was!
I
know
what
kind
of
car
it
was!"
Watching
Tom,
I
noticed
the
muscles
in
his
shoulder
tense
under
his
coat.
He
quickly
walked
over
to
Wilson
and,
standing
in
front
of
him,
gripped
him
firmly
by
the
upper
arms.
"You’ve
got
to
pull
yourself
together,"
he
said
with
a
calming
gruffness.
Wilson’s
eyes
focused
on
Tom;
he
stood
on
his
tiptoes
and
would
have
collapsed
to
his
knees
if
Tom
hadn’t
held
him
up.
"Listen,"
said
Tom,
shaking
him
slightly.
"I
just
got
here
from
New
York.
I
was
bringing
you
that
coupé
we
talked
about.
That
yellow
car
I
drove
this
afternoon
wasn’t
mine—do
you
hear?
I
haven’t
seen
it
all
day."
Only
the
Black
man
and
I
were
close
enough
to
hear
him,
but
the
policeman
noticed
something
in
his
tone
and
looked
over
with
a
challenging
gaze.
