El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 4, Página 4
“‘This
will
scare
the
crows,’
said
the
farmer.
‘He
looks
like
a
man.’
“‘He
is
a
man,’
said
the
other.
I
agreed.
The
farmer
took
me
to
the
cornfield.
He
put
me
on
a
tall
stick.
You
found
me
there.
Then
he
left
me
alone.
“I
did
not
like
being
alone.
I
tried
to
walk,
but
my
feet
did
not
touch
the
ground.
I
stayed
on
the
pole.
I
had
nothing
to
think
about.
Birds
came
to
the
cornfield.
They
saw
me
and
flew
away.
They
thought
I
was
a
Munchkin.
This
made
me
happy.
I
felt
important.
An
old
crow
came
near
me.
He
looked
at
me
and
sat
on
my
shoulder.
He
said:
“‘Did
the
farmer
think
to
fool
me?
Any
crow
can
see
you
are
straw.’
He
ate
corn
at
my
feet.
Other
birds
came
and
ate
too.
“I
felt
sad.
I
was
not
a
good
Scarecrow.
The
old
crow
said,
‘If
you
had
brains,
you
would
be
a
good
man.
Brains
are
the
best
thing
for
a
crow
or
a
man.’
“After
the
crows
left,
I
thought
about
this.
I
wanted
brains.
You
came
and
helped
me.
I
think
the
Great
Oz
will
give
me
brains
in
the
Emerald
City.”
