roar
came

the
forest.
A
big
Lion
jumped
onto
the
road.
He
hit
the
Scarecrow,
and
the
Scarecrow
rolled
away.
The
Lion
tried
to
scratch
the
Tin
Woodman,
but
his
claws
made
no
mark.
The
Woodman
fell
down
and
stayed
still.
Toto
ran
and
barked
at
the
Lion.
The
Lion
opened
his
mouth
to
bite
Toto.
Dorothy
was
scared
for
Toto.
She
ran
and
hit
the
Lion's
nose.
"Don't
bite
Toto!
You
should
be
ashamed,
big
beast!"
Dorothy
shouted.
"I
didn't
bite
him,"
said
the
Lion,
rubbing
his
nose.
"But
you
tried
to,"
Dorothy
said.
"You
are
a
coward."
"I
know,"
said
the
Lion
sadly.
"I
am
a
coward.
How
can
I
