El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 10, Página 2
The
road
was
smooth
and
well-paved,
and
the
countryside
was
beautiful.
The
travelers
were
glad
to
leave
the
dark
forest
and
its
dangers
behind.
They
saw
fences
by
the
road,
painted
green,
and
small
houses,
also
green.
They
passed
several
houses,
and
sometimes
people
looked
at
them
from
the
doors,
curious
but
too
afraid
of
the
big
Lion
to
speak.
The
people
wore
emerald-green
clothes
and
pointed
hats
like
the
Munchkins.
"This
must
be
the
Land
of
Oz,"
said
Dorothy.
"We
are
surely
near
the
Emerald
City."
"Yes,"
said
the
Scarecrow.
"Everything
is
green
here,
while
in
the
Munchkin
country,
blue
was
the
favorite
color.
But
the
people
don't
seem
as
friendly
as
the
Munchkins.
I'm
worried
we
won't
find
a
place
to
stay
for
the
night."
"I
want
to
eat
something
other
than
fruit,"
said
the
girl.
"I'm
sure
Toto
is
very
hungry.
Let's
stop
at
the
next
house
and
talk
to
the
people."
When
they
reached
a
good-sized
farmhouse,
Dorothy
walked
up
to
the
door
and
knocked.
A
woman
opened
it
just
a
little
and
asked,
"What
do
you
want,
child,
and
why
is
that
big
Lion
with
you?"
