El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 11, Página 1
Even
with
their
eyes
protected
by
green
glasses,
Dorothy
and
her
friends
were
amazed
by
the
brightness
of
the
City.
The
streets
were
lined
with
beautiful
houses
made
of
green
marble,
decorated
with
sparkling
emeralds.
They
walked
on
a
pavement
of
the
same
green
marble,
with
rows
of
emeralds
shining
brightly
in
the
sun.
The
windows
were
green
glass,
and
even
the
sky
above
had
a
green
tint,
with
green
sun
rays.
Many
people,
including
men,
women,
and
children,
were
walking
around,
all
dressed
in
green
clothes
with
greenish
skin.
They
looked
at
Dorothy
and
her
unusual
friends
with
curious
eyes,
and
the
children
hid
behind
their
mothers
when
they
saw
the
Lion.
No
one
spoke
to
them.
There
were
many
shops,
and
Dorothy
noticed
everything
was
green.
Green
candy,
green
popcorn,
green
shoes,
green
hats,
and
all
sorts
of
green
clothes
were
for
sale.
A
man
was
selling
green
lemonade,
and
when
children
bought
it,
Dorothy
saw
they
paid
with
green
pennies.
There
were
no
horses
or
animals;
men
carried
things
in
little
green
carts
they
pushed.
Everyone
seemed
happy,
content,
and
prosperous.
The
Guardian
of
the
Gates
led
them
through
the
streets
to
a
big
building
in
the
center
of
the
City,
which
was
the
Palace
of
Oz,
the
Great
Wizard.
A
soldier
stood
at
the
door,
dressed
in
a
green
uniform
with
a
long
green
beard.
“Here
are
strangers,”
said
the
Guardian
of
the
Gates
to
the
soldier,
“and
they
want
to
see
the
Great
Oz.”
“Step
inside,”
the
soldier
replied,
“and
I
will
take
your
message
to
him.”
