El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 12, Página 10
So,
carefully
and
gently,
they
lifted
Dorothy
in
their
arms
and
carried
her
quickly
through
the
air
until
they
reached
the
castle,
where
they
set
her
down
on
the
front
doorstep.
Then
the
leader
said
to
the
Witch:
“We
have
done
what
you
asked
as
far
as
we
could.
The
Tin
Woodman
and
the
Scarecrow
are
destroyed,
and
the
Lion
is
tied
up
in
your
yard.
We
dare
not
harm
the
little
girl
or
the
dog
she
carries.
Your
power
over
us
is
now
finished,
and
you
will
never
see
us
again.”
Then
all
the
Winged
Monkeys,
with
much
laughing
and
chattering
and
noise,
flew
into
the
air
and
were
soon
out
of
sight.
The
Wicked
Witch
was
surprised
and
worried
when
she
saw
the
mark
on
Dorothy’s
forehead,
for
she
knew
that
neither
the
Winged
Monkeys
nor
she
could
hurt
the
girl
in
any
way.
She
looked
at
Dorothy’s
feet
and
saw
the
Silver
Shoes,
and
she
began
to
tremble
with
fear
because
she
knew
they
had
a
powerful
charm.
At
first,
the
Witch
thought
about
running
away
from
Dorothy,
but
when
she
looked
into
the
child’s
eyes,
she
saw
how
simple
she
was
and
that
the
little
girl
did
not
know
about
the
power
of
the
Silver
Shoes.
So
the
Wicked
Witch
laughed
to
herself
and
thought,
“I
can
still
make
her
my
slave,
for
she
does
not
know
how
to
use
her
power.”
Then
she
said
to
Dorothy,
harshly
and
severely:
“Come
with
me,
and
do
everything
I
tell
you,
for
if
you
don’t,
I
will
destroy
you
like
I
did
the
Tin
Woodman
and
the
Scarecrow.”
Dorothy
followed
her
through
many
beautiful
rooms
in
the
castle
until
they
came
to
the
kitchen,
where
the
Witch
told
her
to
clean
the
pots
and
kettles,
sweep
the
floor,
and
keep
the
fire
burning.
