El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 14, Página 7
"The
princess
was
very
angry,
and
she
knew
who
was
responsible.
She
called
all
the
Winged
Monkeys
to
her
and
said
their
wings
should
be
tied.
She
wanted
them
to
be
treated
like
they
had
treated
Quelala
and
dropped
into
the
river.
But
my
grandfather
begged
her
not
to
do
it
because
he
knew
the
Monkeys
would
drown.
Quelala
also
spoke
kindly
for
them,
so
Gayelette
decided
to
spare
them.
She
said
the
Monkeys
must
obey
the
owner
of
the
Golden
Cap
three
times.
This
Cap
was
a
wedding
gift
for
Quelala
and
cost
the
princess
half
her
kingdom.
My
grandfather
and
the
other
Monkeys
agreed,
and
that's
why
we
must
serve
the
owner
of
the
Golden
Cap
three
times,
whoever
that
is."
"And
what
happened
to
them?"
asked
Dorothy,
who
was
very
interested
in
the
story.
"Quelala
was
the
first
owner
of
the
Golden
Cap,"
the
Monkey
replied.
"He
was
the
first
to
give
us
orders.
His
bride
couldn't
stand
seeing
us,
so
after
they
married,
he
called
us
to
the
forest.
He
told
us
to
stay
where
she
would
never
see
a
Winged
Monkey
again.
We
were
happy
to
do
this
because
we
were
all
afraid
of
her."
"That
was
all
we
had
to
do
until
the
Golden
Cap
went
to
the
Wicked
Witch
of
the
West.
She
made
us
enslave
the
Winkies
and
then
drive
Oz
out
of
the
Land
of
the
West.
Now
the
Golden
Cap
is
yours,
and
you
can
give
us
orders
three
times."
When
the
Monkey
King
finished
his
story,
Dorothy
looked
down
and
saw
the
green,
shining
walls
of
the
Emerald
City.
She
was
amazed
at
how
fast
the
Monkeys
had
flown
but
was
glad
the
journey
was
over.
The
strange
creatures
set
the
travelers
down
gently
in
front
of
the
City
gate.
The
King
bowed
low
to
Dorothy
and
then
flew
away
quickly,
followed
by
all
his
group.
"That
was
a
good
ride,"
said
the
little
girl.
