El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 19, Página 4
"Let
me
try
it
first,"
said
the
Scarecrow,
"because
it
doesn't
hurt
me
to
get
thrown."
He
approached
another
tree,
but
its
branches
grabbed
him
and
tossed
him
back
again.
"This
is
strange,"
said
Dorothy.
"What
shall
we
do?"
"The
trees
seem
to
want
to
fight
us
and
stop
our
journey,"
remarked
the
Lion.
"I
think
I'll
try
it
myself,"
said
the
Woodman.
He
took
his
axe
and
walked
to
the
first
tree
that
had
treated
the
Scarecrow
roughly.
When
a
big
branch
bent
down
to
grab
him,
the
Woodman
chopped
it
fiercely,
cutting
it
in
two.
The
tree
shook
all
its
branches
as
if
in
pain,
and
the
Tin
Woodman
passed
safely
under
it.
"Come
on!"
he
shouted
to
the
others.
"Be
quick!"
They
all
ran
forward
and
passed
under
the
tree
without
injury,
except
Toto,
who
was
caught
by
a
small
branch
and
shaken
until
he
howled.
But
the
Woodman
quickly
chopped
off
the
branch
and
freed
the
little
dog.
The
other
trees
did
nothing
to
stop
them,
so
they
decided
that
only
the
first
row
of
trees
could
bend
down
their
branches.
These
were
probably
the
forest's
policemen,
given
this
power
to
keep
strangers
out.
