El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 21, Página 4
“Over
there,
among
the
oak
trees,”
said
the
tiger,
pointing
with
his
paw.
“Take
good
care
of
my
friends,”
said
the
Lion,
“and
I
will
go
at
once
to
fight
the
monster.”
He
said
goodbye
to
his
friends
and
marched
proudly
away
to
battle
the
enemy.
The
giant
spider
was
sleeping
when
the
Lion
found
it,
and
it
looked
so
ugly
that
he
wrinkled
his
nose
in
disgust.
Its
legs
were
as
long
as
the
tiger
had
said,
and
its
body
was
covered
with
coarse
black
hair.
It
had
a
big
mouth
with
a
row
of
sharp
teeth
a
foot
long,
but
its
head
was
connected
to
its
fat
body
by
a
neck
as
thin
as
a
wasp’s
waist.
This
gave
the
Lion
an
idea
of
how
to
attack
the
creature,
and
knowing
it
was
easier
to
fight
it
asleep,
he
jumped
onto
the
monster’s
back.
With
one
powerful
blow
of
his
paw,
armed
with
sharp
claws,
he
knocked
the
spider’s
head
from
its
body.
Jumping
down,
he
watched
until
the
long
legs
stopped
moving,
and
then
he
knew
it
was
dead.
The
Lion
went
back
to
the
clearing
where
the
forest
animals
were
waiting
for
him
and
said
proudly:
“You
need
not
fear
your
enemy
any
longer.”
