El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 22, Página 4
"It
shall
be
done,"
said
the
King.
The
Winged
Monkeys
picked
up
the
four
travelers
and
Toto.
They
flew
over
the
hill
while
the
Hammer-Heads
yelled
angrily
and
shot
their
heads
high,
but
they
couldn't
reach
the
Monkeys.
The
Monkeys
carried
Dorothy
and
her
friends
safely
over
the
hill
and
set
them
down
in
the
beautiful
country
of
the
Quadlings.
"This
is
the
last
time
you
can
call
us,"
said
the
leader
to
Dorothy.
"So
good-bye
and
good
luck
to
you."
"Good-bye,
and
thank
you
very
much,"
replied
the
girl.
The
Monkeys
flew
into
the
air
and
disappeared
quickly.
The
country
of
the
Quadlings
looked
rich
and
happy.
Fields
of
ripening
grain
spread
out,
with
well-paved
roads
between
them.
Pretty
brooks
with
strong
bridges
crossed
the
land.
Fences,
houses,
and
bridges
were
painted
bright
red,
just
like
the
yellow
in
the
Winkies'
land
and
blue
in
the
Munchkins'
land.
The
Quadlings
were
short
and
fat,
looking
chubby
and
good-natured,
dressed
all
in
red,
which
stood
out
against
the
green
grass
and
yellow
grain.
The
Monkeys
set
them
down
near
a
farmhouse.
The
four
travelers
walked
up
and
knocked
on
the
door.
The
farmer’s
wife
opened
it,
and
when
Dorothy
asked
for
food,
the
woman
gave
them
a
good
meal
with
three
kinds
of
cake,
four
kinds
of
cookies,
and
a
bowl
of
milk
for
Toto.
"How
far
is
it
to
the
Castle
of
Glinda?"
the
child
asked.
