El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 4, Página 4
“‘This
fellow
will
scare
the
crows
fast
enough,’
said
the
farmer.
‘He
looks
just
like
a
man.’
“‘Why,
he
is
a
man,’
said
the
other,
and
I
agreed.
The
farmer
carried
me
under
his
arm
to
the
cornfield
and
set
me
up
on
a
tall
stick,
where
you
found
me.
He
and
his
friend
soon
walked
away
and
left
me
alone.
“I
didn't
like
being
left
alone
like
that.
I
tried
to
follow
them,
but
my
feet
didn't
touch
the
ground,
so
I
had
to
stay
on
that
pole.
It
was
a
lonely
life
because
I
had
been
made
so
recently.
Many
crows
and
other
birds
flew
into
the
cornfield,
but
when
they
saw
me,
they
flew
away,
thinking
I
was
a
Munchkin.
This
made
me
feel
important.
Then
an
old
crow
flew
close,
looked
at
me
carefully,
perched
on
my
shoulder,
and
said:
“‘Did
that
farmer
think
he
could
fool
me
this
way?
Any
smart
crow
can
see
you're
just
stuffed
with
straw.’
Then
he
hopped
down
and
ate
all
the
corn
he
wanted.
The
other
birds
saw
he
wasn't
harmed
and
came
to
eat
the
corn
too.
Soon,
there
was
a
large
flock
around
me.
“I
felt
sad
because
it
showed
I
wasn't
a
good
Scarecrow.
But
the
old
crow
comforted
me,
saying,
‘If
you
had
brains,
you'd
be
as
good
as
any
man,
and
better
than
some.
Brains
are
the
most
important
thing,
whether
you're
a
crow
or
a
man.’
“After
the
crows
left,
I
thought
about
this
and
decided
to
try
hard
to
get
some
brains.
Luckily,
you
came
along
and
took
me
off
the
pole,
and
from
what
you
say,
I'm
sure
the
Great
Oz
will
give
me
brains
when
we
reach
the
Emerald
City.”
