El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 8, Página 8
“I
always
liked
flowers,”
said
the
Lion.
“They
seem
so
helpless
and
delicate.
But
there
are
none
in
the
forest
as
bright
as
these.”
They
came
upon
more
and
more
big
scarlet
poppies,
and
fewer
of
the
other
flowers.
Soon
they
were
in
the
middle
of
a
large
meadow
of
poppies.
It
is
known
that
when
many
of
these
flowers
are
together,
their
scent
is
so
strong
that
anyone
who
breathes
it
falls
asleep.
If
the
sleeper
is
not
moved
away
from
the
flowers,
they
sleep
on
and
on
forever.
But
Dorothy
didn’t
know
this,
and
she
couldn’t
escape
the
bright
red
flowers
all
around
her.
Soon
her
eyes
grew
heavy,
and
she
felt
she
must
sit
down
to
rest
and
sleep.
But
the
Tin
Woodman
would
not
let
her
do
this.
"We
must
hurry
and
get
back
to
the
yellow
brick
road
before
it
gets
dark,"
he
said,
and
the
Scarecrow
agreed.
They
kept
walking
until
Dorothy
couldn't
go
any
further.
Her
eyes
closed
on
their
own,
and
she
forgot
where
she
was
and
fell
asleep
among
the
poppies.
"What
should
we
do?"
asked
the
Tin
Woodman.
"If
we
leave
her
here,
she
will
die,"
said
the
Lion.
"The
smell
of
the
flowers
is
harming
us
all.
I
can
barely
keep
my
eyes
open,
and
the
dog
is
already
asleep."
