El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 9, Página 3
"We
will!"
cried
all
the
mice
in
a
high-pitched
chorus.
Then
they
ran
in
all
directions
because
Toto
had
woken
up.
Seeing
all
the
mice,
he
barked
happily
and
jumped
into
the
middle
of
the
group.
Toto
loved
to
chase
mice
when
he
lived
in
Kansas
and
thought
it
was
fun.
But
the
Tin
Woodman
caught
Toto
in
his
arms
and
held
him
tightly.
He
called
to
the
mice,
"Come
back!
Come
back!
Toto
will
not
hurt
you."
Hearing
this,
the
Queen
of
the
Mice
peeked
out
from
under
some
grass
and
asked
in
a
timid
voice,
"Are
you
sure
he
won't
bite
us?"
"I
won't
let
him,"
said
the
Woodman.
"So
don't
be
afraid."
One
by
one,
the
mice
came
back.
Toto
didn't
bark
again,
though
he
tried
to
get
out
of
the
Woodman's
arms.
He
might
have
bitten
him
if
he
didn't
know
the
Woodman
was
made
of
tin.
Finally,
one
of
the
biggest
mice
spoke.
"Is
there
anything
we
can
do,"
it
asked,
"to
repay
you
for
saving
our
Queen?"
