XI.
SUMMER
SHOWER.
A
drop
on
the
apple
tree,
Another
on
the
roof;
A
few
kiss
the
eaves,
And
make
the
house
laugh.
Some
help
the
brook,
That
goes
to
the
sea.
I
thought,
Were
they
pearls,
What
necklaces
they
would
be!
The
dust
goes
back
on
roads,
The
birds
sing
more;
The
sun
throws
his
hat
away,
The
trees
shine.
The
winds
bring
sad
tunes,
And
wash
them
in
joy;
The
East
shows
a
flag,
And
ends
the
party.
