XII.
PSALM
OF
THE
DAY.
Something
in
a
summer's
day,
As
slow
the
lights
go
away,
Makes
me
feel
deep.
Something
in
a
summer's
noon,
—
A
blue
sky,
a
quiet
tune,
Feels
so
happy.
And
still
in
a
summer's
night
Something
bright,
I
clap
my
hands
to
see;
Then
cover
my
face,
Lest
such
beauty
Goes
too
far
for
me.
The
fingers
never
rest,
The
purple
stream
inside
Moves
in
its
bed;
Still
the
East
shows
her
flag,
Guides
the
sun
With
his
red
lights,
Like
flowers
that
heard
of
dew,
But
never
thought
the
prize
Was
for
them;
Or
bees,
that
thought
summer
Was
a
dream
No
summer
could
be;
Or
creatures,
moved
By
a
bird
In
the
woods;
Or
wind's
call
to
the
ear,
Making
it
known,
Before
The
heaven
came,
To
lives
that
thought
their
song
Too
much.
