IX.
THE
GRASS.
The
grass
has
little
to
do,
—
A
simple
green,
With
butterflies
to
watch,
And
bees
to
see,
And
move
all
day
to
nice
tunes
The
winds
bring,
And
hold
the
sun
And
bow
to
all;
And
wear
the
dew
at
night,
like
pearls,
And
look
so
nice,
—
A
queen
would
be
too
plain
For
such
beauty.
And
even
when
it
dies,
to
go
With
sweet
smells,
Like
spices
asleep,
Or
pine
charms.
And
then
to
stay
in
barns,
And
dream
the
days
away,
—
The
grass
has
little
to
do,
I
wish
I
were
the
hay!
