XIV.
LOVE'S
BAPTISM.
I'm
given,
I've
stopped
being
theirs;
The
name
they
put
on
my
face
With
water,
in
the
country
church,
Is
done
with
now,
And
they
can
put
it
with
my
toys,
My
childhood,
and
the
string
of
spools
I've
finished
threading
too.
Baptized
before
without
choice,
But
this
time
by
my
own
grace
To
the
highest
name,
Called
to
my
full,
the
crescent
dropped,
Life's
whole
arc
filled
up
With
one
small
crown.
My
second
place,
too
small
the
first,
Crowned,
crowing
on
my
father's
chest,
A
half
aware
queen;
But
this
time,
ready,
tall,
With
will
to
choose
or
to
reject.
And
I
choose
—
just
a
throne.
