IV.
THE
CONTRACT.
I
gave
myself
to
him,
And
he
gave
himself
to
me.
The
serious
deal
of
life
Was
made
this
way.
The
riches
might
not
be
real,
I
might
be
less
Than
he
thought,
but
Love
Is
what
we
have.
Visions
may
fade;
But
until
he
buys,
Stories
in
the
spice
lands
Lie
hidden
and
wise.
At
least,
it's
a
shared
risk,
—
Some
find
it
a
shared
gain;
Sweet
debt
of
life,
—
each
night
to
owe,
And
again
each
day.
