IV.
THE
CONTRACT.
I
gave
myself
to
him,
And
took
him
as
my
own.
The
serious
promise
of
a
life
Was
made
this
way.
The
wealth
might
fail,
I
might
be
less
Than
he
thought,
But
Love
owns
every
day.
The
vision
may
fade;
But
until
he
buys,
In
the
islands
of
spice,
The
hidden
treasures
lie.
At
least,
it's
a
shared
risk,
—
Some
find
it
mutual
gain;
Sweet
debt
of
Life,
—
each
night
to
owe,
Insolvent,
every
noon.
